Training Session on the Proper Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools for ISO Students

In the measures of application of the strategic orientations for the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning at the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut, the New Educational Technologies Unit was contacted by the Higher Institute of Speech and Language Therapy in order to ensure a training session “AI: let’s talk about it! » addressed to more than 40 students. This training was provided by Mr. Mario Gharib, Team Leader at the Unit, in English, as part of the teaching unit entitled “Artificial intelligence for speech therapy: applications and perspectives”.

During this session, Mr. Mario Gharib prompted students with interactive questions to encourage their active engagement and to invite them to suggest definitions of AI. He explained the fundamental AI concepts and introduced various AI tools that can help students in their academic endeavors and research. Furthermore, Mr. Mario Gharib raised issues related to the ethical challenges and implications of AI, such as data privacy, accountability in the event of AI errors, and the potential biases associated with training data.
