The Head of the New Educational Technologies Unit (UNTE) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Mrs. Wadad Gergy Wazen, along with Team Leader Mr. Mario Gharib, took part in a workshop organized by AUST "Knowledge Sharing," in collaboration with USAID-funded Higher Education Capacity Development Program (HECD) on June 2nd 2023. The workshop was attended by thirty-two instructors and IT directors from ten universities across Lebanon.
The primary focus of the event was to explore the impact of new technologies in education and collaborative online international learning. Discussions centered around the use of technology to deliver educational content through online platforms like Blackboard, blended learning, flipped classrooms, and massive open online courses.
The participants delved into how technology is revolutionizing the educational process and expanding educational opportunities for various groups, including disadvantaged students, older adults, and rural populations. Additionally, they discussed the roles of policy makers, the private sector, school administrators, and teachers in evaluating, funding, and supporting technological innovations in classrooms.
UNTE is committed to foster the integration of innovative technologies for improved learning outcomes and increased educational opportunities for diverse student populations.
