As part of the fourth edition of Digital Education Day organized by the Quebec Ministry of Education, the UNTE took part virtually in the conference that was held on Friday 4 November 2022 in the presence of more than 3000 participants from all over the world including teachers, education consultants and school administrators in the public and private education networks.
The Digital Education Day opened with speeches of welcome and in-depth discussions by the Ministers of Education and Minister of Cybersecurity and Digital Technology, followed by a conference on distance education and training workshops in face-to-face and remote teaching and learning.
The conferences and 42 workshops revolved around three main themes:
Dr. Helena Saade, Projects Manager represented UNTE at the international conference and training workshops to cultivate new skills to better integrate digital competences in teachers’ practice and build networks with other academics and experts. Discussions about the potential of digital technologies in education today increasingly place the issue as part of a more comprehensive approach to innovation in education. It is now more apparent than ever that the courageous efforts of educators to embrace new learning models, new digital learning environments, and new approaches to working, learning, and sharing is essential if we want technology to be an effective tool to transform learning, to raise productivity, improve efficiency, increase quality and foster equity.
It should be noted that among the 42 workshops offered, those dealing with the support of teachers in their professional development in the digital age and the integration of stimulating practices were among the most popular of this edition.
