There is growing consensus that the Information and communication technologies represent a real opportunity to improve educational inclusion and make educational content and activities accessible to all learners. In this sense, technologies acts as a catalyst, promoting a mindset shift that makes the learning environment more inclusive and supportive of student engagement whether it is those who learn at a slower rate or those gifted students who benefit from enrichment activities. From this standpoint, the New Educational Technologies Unit (UNTE) of Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), is committed to promote inclusive excellence by working to ensure equitable access to opportunities, benefits, and digital resources and through engagement with the campuses and the community.
By implementing inclusive practices using technology tools, faculty create learning environments where equity gaps can be closed and all students feel they belong and have the opportunity to achieve at high levels.
UNTE strives to provide professors, students, USJ community and curriculum with the digital tools and techniques to become a more effective changemaker and leader. In this context, we offer tailored training programs (catalogue) designed and adapted for a dynamic online learning experience, and an immersive interactive suite of virtual learning platforms that mirrors a classroom experience. We help you transform knowledge into impact and drive innovation in your classroom.
UNTE is determined to implement the vision of USJ where achievement and recognition are emancipated from belonging to a few and is universally accessible to all; Where individual transformation is inextricably linked with healthy relationships and equitable institutional systems, structures, policies and practices; Where every student is valued for the brilliance and humanity that they bring, and with whom we work to enhance a multicultural sophistication that sharpens their abilities to contribute justly on a global stage. Where the work of institutional transformation is actively engaged by all, but especially led and resourced by those who are most empowered formally and informally to drive change, and where the experiences of groups who are marginalized are sought out, valued and incorporated to drive deep and sustainable change.

Inclusive teaching depends on a combination of belief in students’ ability to succeed, knowledge of pedagogical best practice, design of accessible courses, policies and actions that support student learning. Rethinking 21st century pedagogy means addressing digital and e-inclusion.
